CAR T-cell therapy has already transformed treatment for several difficult-to-treat blood cancers, including:

Researchers are now investigating whether future generations of CAR T cells can successfully treat solid tumors, such as cancers of the:

However, treating solid tumors remains significantly more challenging.
⚠️ CAR T-Cell Therapy Isn’t Right for Everyone
Although CAR T-cell therapy has produced remarkable results, it also has important limitations.
Potential challenges include:
- ⚠️ Serious immune-related side effects, including cytokine release syndrome (CRS)
- 🧠 Neurological complications in some patients
- ❌ Not every patient responds to treatment
- 🔁 Some patients eventually experience relapse
For these reasons, CAR T-cell therapy is offered only in specialized medical centers with expert monitoring.
