Just one small RUDA leaf per day and you would eliminate bone pain, rheumatism, or arthritis…

Step-by-step preparation:

Pour the cup of water into a small pot and bring it to a boil.

Once the water is boiling vigorously, turn off the heat completely and remove the pot from the stove.

Add the small amount of rue to the hot water.

Cover and let it steep for a maximum of 3 to 5 minutes. If left longer, the drink will become excessively bitter and may release toxic compounds.

Strain the liquid immediately to remove all plant residues.

Drink it warm, preferably sweetened with a touch of pure stevia or honey if the taste is too strong.

Method of use and routine:
Rue infusion should never be a daily drink. It is used strictly as an emergency remedy (for example, on the first day of unbearable menstrual cramps or after very painful indigestion). Take only one cup and do not repeat the dose on the same day.

Safe alternative:
If you are looking to relieve joint pain, muscle pain, or sciatica, it is much safer to use rue externally. You can macerate a good handful of fresh rue in 96% alcohol for two weeks in a dark place. Use the resulting liquid for rubbing or massaging painful areas; it is an excellent topical anti-inflammatory.

Important precautions (mandatory reading):
This is perhaps one of the herbal medicines with the most serious contraindications. Rue is strictly forbidden for pregnant women, as it is a proven emmenagogue and abortifacient plant that causes strong uterine contractions and hemorrhaging. It should also not be consumed by breastfeeding women or children under any circumstances.

If you suffer from kidney or liver problems, you must completely avoid internal use.

Finally, if you handle fresh rue with bare hands in your garden, wash thoroughly with soap and water before sun exposure. Its oils contain furanocoumarins, compounds that react with UV rays and can cause severe skin spots or second-degree burns (phytophotodermatitis).
