Step 1: Prepare the garlic
Peel the garlic cloves carefully. You can leave small cloves whole, but larger cloves can be lightly crushed or cut in half. This helps release more flavor into the honey. Do not mince the garlic too finely, because whole or halved cloves keep better in the jar and are easier to use later.
